The Protein Diet Review – How Protein Can Reshape Your Body Quickly

One thing you continuously hear touted by fitness gurus is that you should eat 5-6 small meals per day, and each of these meals should contain protein. They especially say this if you’re trying to build muscle and lose fat. But, is it healthy to go on a protein diet, and will it really help you get the body you want?

The science is pretty clear. Protein is the building block of muscle, without it, your muscle mass will break down and you’ll be left with fat. Not only that, but protein contributes to a wide variety of body functions, and helps your organs function properly. Without the necessary amounts of protein you’re never going to look your best – even if you stop eating altogether.

But, is there such thing as eating too much protein? Certain books like the China Diet, claim that too much protein is the number one cause of cancer in North America. Unfortunately, there are no conclusive studies that show this claim is completely true. So whether or not too much protein causes cancer is still up for debate. One thing is clear though, to get the body you want (lean and toned), you’ll need to eat enough protein to build muscle mass.

This is important because protein works by building and repairing your muscles. When you lift weights or exercise, essentially what you’re doing is breaking apart the muscle, creating micro tears. To repair the muscle and make it bigger, you’ll need to consume large amounts of protein.

Typically, you should aim to eat 1-2 times your body mass in grams of protein per day. That means that if you weight 200 pounds, you’ll want to eat 200 grams of protein per day. This can be really hard to do if you’re not using supplements.

Some good sources of protein include, beans, fish, chicken breast, turkey and other meats. Try and stay away from the red meats though as these can clog up your arteries. It would be wise for you to buy a casein protein powder mix and drink 1-2 shakes per day while exercising.

It seems that eating enough protein can definitely help you sculpt your body into what you want, and help with your weight loss goals.So, follow this advice and you should feel and look a lot better. Just make sure to drink a lot of water while eating large amounts of protein.
